The Company: Our established client which provides sector-leading competence and comprehensive inspection and analysis services for all major commodities, has grown exponentially in recent years and is internationally renowned for developing assaying techniques, particularly within the metal sector in determining gold and silver, and bulk non-ferrous and ferrous ores and concentrates. 

The business has also diversified and built up a solid reputation through its diversification and has established an Agricultural and Food Division to enable it to provide services for the inspection and analysis of soft commodities including grains, oilseeds, oils and fats, food products and beverages to traders, retailers, millers, refiners and farmers across the globe. It has offices, laboratories and inspection operations across the world.

The Company’s commitment to quality is governed by the many accreditations it holds and compliance with ISO 17025 and ISO 17020. A new role has surfaced that will work with its already established business development team, with great mentoring of the incumbent candidate.

The Job
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and drive growth in our mineral and agricultural testing services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting our services to prospective clients in the UK and Europe.
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets and expand market presence in the metal and mineral, agricultural and food testing sectors.
Identify and prospect potential clients through market research, networking, and targeted outreach efforts, particularly with traders.
Collaborate with internal teams, including laboratory operations and technical staff, to ensure seamless delivery of services and alignment with client requirements.
Prepare and deliver engaging presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients, showcasing our expertise, capabilities, and value proposition.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our services, network with key stakeholders, and stay abreast of industry developments.

Qualifications & Experience: 
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field ideally (e.g., Marketing, Science) is preferred.
Minimum of three years of proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the testing laboratory or scientific services industry.

A competitive basic salary of £35-45k BOE and a discretionary bonus is also provided based on performance as agreed on start date. Holidays are 23-25 days upon commencement plus Statutory Holidays.
