Role: Chemical Process Engineer – Contract

Location: Hybrid (2 days home / 3 days office) 

Rate: £45-50/hr – Outside of IR35 

As a Chemical Process Engineer with our client, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and developing processes within the fine chemical industrial sector. This is a contract position, initially for 3-6 months with the potential for a long-term ongoing commitment.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of PFD/PID and process descriptions.
  • Creation of control philosophies and process equipment data sheets.
  • Preparation of process schedules for pipelines, valve instruments, etc.
  • Conducting process ‘sizing’ calculations and attending HAZOP meetings.
  • Collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines including piping, layout, electrical, control, and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with clients and other disciplines.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas for client visits and site surveys, without extended stays away from home.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from large green/brown field projects to smaller ‘cut and carve’ projects.

Key Skills/Attributes & Experience:

  • Ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Proficiency in design within the fine chemical industrial sector.
  • Strong technical skills in PFD/PID development, process descriptions, and control philosophies.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective client and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Capacity to manage varied projects simultaneously and adapt to changing project scopes.
