Job Title: Commissioning Engineer (2 positions)

Location: Southwest, UK

Rate: Competitive, rates on application, outside IR35

Duration: 6 months initially

Job Purpose:

Our client, a niche engineering consultancy, is seeking two skilled Commissioning Engineers with expertise in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) for live projects in the Southwest region. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be instrumental in the commissioning lifecycle, ensuring the successful transition from setting to work through to inactive commissioning and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee setting to work activities, sequence testing, and inactive commissioning.
  • Play a crucial role in the commissioning lifecycle for two distinct projects: Polymer Encapsulation System and Cement Encapsulation System, as well as Size Reduction of Waste for Export.
  • Manage subcontractors responsible for inactive commissioning documentation on the polymer line.
  • Demonstrate expertise in EC&I throughout the commissioning process.

Key Skills/Attributes & Experience:

  • Proven experience in EC&I with a focus on commissioning engineering.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate different commissioning stages.
  • Experience in regulated industries, particularly nuclear, is desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant experience in setting to work activities, sequence testing, and inactive commissioning.
