EC&I Technician (4-day week)

Salary: £33k-£35k+ with Overtime (1.5x / 2x rates)  
Working Hours:
4-day working week.Mon-Wed7:30am-17:30pm, Thurs 17:00pm finish.
Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours a week (overtime 1.5x/2x rates)
Location: Merseyside

The Business:
A days-based EC&I Technician position is available within the machine assembly team of one of our reputable clients.

The company designs and builds capital equipment for businesses across various regulated manufacturing industries – predominantly pharmaceutical, chemical & aerospace sectors.

The primary function of the role is to be responsible for FAT/SAT’s & IQ/OQ testing procedures, additionally supporting the electrical team with the build process, and updating software (Siemens controls) conducted within their production space, following electrical engineering drawings and adhering to regulations of the industry (i.e. COMAH, PUWER).

The role offers generous overtime with additional opportunity to travel overseas to conduct installations on customers sites, typically 1-2 week trips paid at increased rates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build of the machine control system, supporting control panel assembly in the capital equipment build process.
  • Conduct pre-FAT’s and FAT’s once build is complete.
  • Follow electrical drawings throughout the build stage.
  • Liaise with engineering team in the resolution of problems relating to control system function.
  • Follow safe practice ensuring H&S requirements are met.
  • Adhere to regulations of the industry i.e. COMAH, PUWER
  • Support off-site installations on customer sites, SAT final delivery.

  • Time-served Apprenticeship (preferred)
  • NVQ level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification (i.e. 17th / 18th edition) in electrical discipline.
