JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
The Component Test department is responsible for undertaking a wide range of climatic, vibration and functional durability tests for a range of sectors.
This role will cover all aspects of component testing with the successful candidate being responsible for planning, execution and reporting of a variety of tests.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with customers to ensure their requirements are met and they are aware of test progress
- Ensure all tests are appropriately planned, running correctly and fully documented
- Follow test procedures, fully understand the test requirements and communicate these clearly with others
- Coordinate, supervise and conduct tests and lab activities, working with engineers and technicians
- Develop risk assessments for tests
- Programming of test equipment including; PLC, Chambers and shakers
- Rig design and preparation using CAD packages
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure ever improving facilities, processes and test methods
- Undertake analysis of results, including statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations
Qualifications
- · Qualified to bachelor degree or equivalent with appropriate experience, preferably in an automotive or electrical discipline
Experience
- Component testing (beneficial)
- Climatic and vibration test equipment (beneficial)
- Use of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems (beneficial)
- Automation systems and PLC’s (beneficial)
- Customer service (preferred)
- Data analysis (desirable)
- Hands-on experience in a lab or workshop environment (preferred)
- Report writing (desirable)
Skills
- Able to carry out at least basic workshop fitting tasks
- Ability to find creative solutions to problems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

- SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)

- NOTE: This position be will based on site
