Company Profile:
A professional hydrographic survey consultancy with capability to fulfil an array of projects, the organisation has experienced a considerable period of expansion having recently increased the headcount of their offshore survey workforce to undertake a greater number of challenging projects. They currently offer a range of survey services from Near/Offshore Bathymetric & Geophysical, UXO, ROV/USV, Offshore Construction, Vessel Dimensional Control. They use a range of hardware for their work incl. SBES/MBES, USBL, GPS/GNSS, Sidescan Sonar, Sub-bottom Profilers.

The position of Project Manager is well-suited to someone with a background in conducting hydrographic surveys of various calibres who would like to secure a role onshore, or someone currently experienced in managing hydrographic survey projects.   

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Plan & manage new and ongoing nearshore/offshore survey projects.
  • Problem solving on the job in a fast-moving ever-changing environment.
  • Liaise with client on project requirements, delivering in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Utilise staff & freelance workforce, assigning tasks and projects best suited to individual skill sets.
  • Lead company operational planning through effective communication, optimising business efficiencies through liaising with business management, clients, stakeholders.   
  • Project planning from the initial development to updating relevant parties across the project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and within assigned budget.
  • Support Junior staff throughout their development with hands-on support when required.  

Individual Requirements:

  • Knowledge of hydrographic survey processes, software and hardware. Full project lifecycle planning responsibility.   
  • Commercially aware – capable of prioritising, planning and executing work in timely manner, balancing finances, risk mitigation, service quality.
  • Strong communication skills across all business levels.
  • Stoic approach to project planning in the face of a fast changing environment.
