Job Title: Senior / Survey Engineer

Location: UK residence, located anywhere.  
Package: £55,000 – £70,000+ total package (dependant on experience)
Offshore days: 170+ days a year
Job Type: Permanent Employee

A global leader in offshore survey services with expertise in bathymetric, pre-construction, precise positioning, inspections & maintenance surveys for the Oil & Gas / Renewables sectors. The organisation has a global presence with multiple offices worldwide looking to expand their UK Survey Engineer workforce with strong experienced members with a good degree of experience working offshore.

The business holds a reputation for conducting high quality work for reputable end-clients, operating a project-based rotation with generous uplift provided for working days above the contracted days offshore.  

They offer thorough training & development for individuals from a suitable background (e.g. avionics / electronics / sonar specialists) looking to get into the industry.

Desirable Equipment Knowledge:
Single/Multibeam Echosounder, USBL/LBL, arrays/transponders, radar/GPS/GNSS, other sonar systems.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Mobilisation, calibration, testing & deployment of on-board survey systems.
  • Maintain equipment, providing reports on faults & damages to leadership implementing corrective action where possible.
  • Monitor equipment performance & data quality ensuring desired specifications are met.
  • Ensure work is conducted in a professional manner and to the highest quality, presenting awareness to risk assessments / H&S best practices.  
  • Project strategy and documentation, in accordance with company project management system.
  • Provide comprehensive handover notes, updating records of site-specific surveys.
  • Comprehensive survey logs maintained during watch periods.
  • Pro-active work ethic, engaging in new initiatives and campaigns, positive attitude towards self-development, identifying personal needs for development.
